THE CHALLENGE
The hospital aimed to enhance patient engagement and improve outcomes in revenue, appointments, and life-saving screenings. They sought to boost staff efficiency, and appointment utilization, and reduce costs. By implementing Dialog Health's two-way texting, they streamlined communication and scheduling, ensuring more patients received screenings efficiently. This approach not only optimized operations but also facilitated better patient care.
THE SOLUTION
The hospital used two-way texting with Dialog Health to engage with mammogram-eligible patients and encourage them to book and then keep their screening appointments. The hospital worked with Dialog Health to implement an automated text message campaign that would go to every patient in the hospital's system who was eligible for a mammogram. By leveraging the platforms easy-to-use console, the hospital was able to set-up an automated and personalized campaign and use dynamic tags to easily find eligible recipients...getting the right message to the right person. By using features in the platform they were also able to easily add links, phone numbers and other important scheduling information to be at the patient's fingertips.
The initial text message reminded patients about their annual screening and provided two ways patients could schedule their appointment:

Patients who scheduled their mammogram received a reminder text the day before their appointment. This message also provided instructions on how to reschedule the screening, if necessary:

THE RESULTS
Dialog Health's conversational texting software has transformed how this hospital communicates with eligible patients about scheduling their mammogram screening and other Gaps-in-Care programs. Dialog Health's live reporting and analytics shows the reach rate is averaging 96% of recipients.
The hospital is also seeing increased patient satisfaction from the text messaging as the primary outreach method to those patients who have opted into texting and is working to get outlying patients subscribed to SMS.
